Men’s Sheds Canada is committed to supporting the Men’s Shed movement in Canada by providing grants to Sheds and potential Sheds to meet short term needs.
There are many challenges to starting a Shed, and the Start-Up Grant is designed to provide a financial kick-start to men (or to supporting organizations) who are motivated to put the necessary time and energy in getting a Shed off the ground for the health and well-being of its members. Your application will also serve to connect you with a growing community of Sheds across the country supported by Men’s Sheds Canada.
Start-up Grant Process & Criteria
Eligibility Requirements:
Up to $1,000 is available for Men’s Sheds that have not yet started or have recently been launched in their community. Groups of two or more individuals wishing to form a Shed, or existing community-based organizations who can demonstrate an interest in starting a Shed from men in their community, are eligible. Applicants from across Canada are encouraged to apply. Not-for-profit Society status is not required for this granting opportunity, but Sheds are strongly encouraged to incorporate into a society as they mature.
Deadline: Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. A decision on the application will be made within one month of submission.
